It's Ok to not be Ok.......

Have you checked in with yourself today? How are you? Most of us, including me, have been guilty of saying I'm fine or I'm good when asked this question.  its Ok to say we are not ok in the right circumstances. Even if it means writing it in a journal or chatting to someone you trust. To many of us mask our true feelings, which leads to imbalances in our emotional, mental, physical and spiritual health.

Most of us have been guilty of this. I know I have. It’s easier to offer a safe, short answer than to open up. We’re conditioned to put on a brave face, to keep moving, to not “burden” others with our feelings. But here’s the truth: masking how we really feel only pushes the struggle deeper inside. Over time, that weight grows heavier.

Naming how we feel isn’t weakness; it’s an act of self-awareness and love towards ourselves. And self-awareness is the first step toward change.

When we’re honest with ourselves, we create space to heal. When we invest time and energy into doing the work on ourselves—whether through therapy, reflection, reading, mindfulness, or simply slowing down—we lay the foundations for powerful transformation.

You are your most important investment. And the returns? Clarity. Strength. Resilience. A deeper connection with yourself and others.

So today, check in with yourself—really check in. Don’t rush the answer. Your truth might just be the starting point for something beautiful, and the light bulb moment you've been looking for.

For me, that truth led to building a toolkit for change. I work with Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH), where I hold a Higher Level 5 Diploma. It is a blend of Cognitive-Behavioural strategies and hypnosis. Research published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis found CBH to be more effective than CBT alone for depression, with long-lasting improvements. It works by addressing unhelpful thought patterns, feelings and behaviours while the mind is in a receptive, relaxed state, replacing them with new perspectives that are helpful, feel natural and easier to adopt.

I also turned to Yoga and now I am an experienced higher-level 300Hr Diploma level teacher offering Hatha, Transformational Yoga, Vinyasa, prenatal and Yin, all accredited. Yoga is not just exercise, but it is a way to reconnect with the body and settle the nervous system and inner self. Clinical trials have shown yoga can significantly reduce anxiety and depression, partly by boosting GABA levels—a neurotransmitter that promotes calm—and balancing cortisol, our main stress hormone.

Sound Healing came next. The first time I experienced Tuning Forks. It felt like I had returned home, a deep sense of inner knowing and peace returned to me, and I decided to train with Suara Sound to share this beautiful modality with others.    Studies have shown that instruments like Tuning Forks, Himalayan singing bowls can lower tension, improve mood, and reduce physical pain scores. These vibrational frequencies help the brain shift into slower wave patterns, encouraging deep rest and cellular change for mental and emotional release.

And then, there was Energy Healing—Rahanni Celestial Energy and other practices that work with the body’s subtle energy systems, our spiritual selves, our souls. While more research is emerging, early studies point to reductions in stress, anxiety, and even pain after energy-based interventions. Beyond the data, the lived experience is what stayed with me: a sense of lightness, clarity, and renewed emotional flow and a connection to something that cannot always be explained by science. A connection to our true divine essence.

Each of these practices became a thread in my tapestry of healing. They didn’t “fix” me overnight—but together, they gave me tools to meet myself with honesty, compassion, and courage. That’s where real change began.
